Solari Charges Madrid Fans To Accept Draw Results

Real Madrid manager, Santiago Solari, has urged supporters of the club to embrace the realities of the sports and not expect the club to win every game it plays.

The former Los Blancos player, who was signed by the club after the sacking of Julen Lopetegui, says the LaLiga is too competitive for supporters of the club to undervalue draws.

Real Madrid were held to a 2-2 draw at Villareal last Thursday culminating in a third draw for the side which has lost once under Solari and tasted four defeats under the former manager whose tenure brought the club their worst start in the Spanish top flight league.

"It's a very competitive league. We shouldn't undervalue draws. Obviously, we want to win, but the competition is open. We had a good first half at Villarreal and now we'll try to win all three points on Sunday."

Solari was promoted from his coaching role at the club’s academy to rewrite the scrolls and the Argentine reckons he is doing just that, but needs the supporters to understand that the players are humans and so cannot always win.

"It's a very competitive league. We shouldn't undervalue draws. Obviously, we want to win, but the competition is open. We had a good first half at Villarreal and now we'll try to win all three points on Sunday."

"The objective is to keep moving up the positions. We're aware the start wasn't easy. We've moved into fourth place. We have to go out into the fight and take up the challenge of facing difficult situations. It's what we've been doing and we're happy with what we're doing."

"Every team plays in this competition. We have one of the most beautiful leagues. Nobody gives you anything. Everyone has the talent to hurt everyone else."

"The players are not machines, we have to do energy renewal exercises at the end of every match. Nobody has as many competitions as we do. It's difficult.”
