Rooney Urges Sancho To Stay At Dortmund
By Joshua Walters
Former Manchester United forward, Wayne Rooney, has recommended that Jadon Sancho should remain with Dortmund despite interest from Manchester United.
Sancho, who had a splendid career last term at the Signal Iduna park has been linked with a move to the Premier League club and Rooney believes the former should rather stay with the Bundesliga side.
Ole Gunnar Solsjaer’s Red Devils are thought to be keen on landing the youngster in this summer's transfer window, but their £80 million valuation of the former Manchester City youth player is said to be below what Dortmund are targeting.
However, Rooney is against the 19-year-old departing the German outfit to join Manchester United as he thinks remaining at Dortmund will be the best option for Sancho.
"Dortmund is a great club with great fans, they trust their young players and you can see that in Sancho and the progress he has made in the last 12 months.
"Now Jadon has to ask himself whether he would get the playing time he gets in Dortmund when he moves to England, or would he just sit on the bench?
"Playing time is so important for a young player like Jadon, so if he gets the most playing time in Dortmund, he should stay there."
Sancho has become one of the indispensable players at Dortmund, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists in 34 Bundesliga games as his side were pipped to the domestic title by Bayern Munich.
But with Dortmund having lost their winger, Christian Pulisic to Chelsea, the signing of Sancho proves to be somewhat difficult for Manchester United.
