Ronaldo Beginning To Find Spark At Juve

Cristiano Ronaldo has increased his Juventus goal tally to three as he combined with Federico Bernardeschi to give the champions a hard-fought 2-0 win at Frosinone on Sunday.

Ronaldo went without a goal for his new club in the opening three matches of the 2018/19 season, but the serial goal-poacher ended the drought with a brace against Sassuolo last week.

Sunday's strike may just be the beginning of another impressive goal haul for the player as he did in England with Manchester United and Real Madrid in Spain.

Massimiliano Allegri's Juventus now have five wins out of as many games, and sit at the summit of the Serie A with 15 points, two points above Napoli and five points more than 3rd placed Fiorentina and 4th placed Sassuolo.

Frosinone had just a point from four games and were yet to record a goal ahead of the match day-five fixture.

One would have thought that the new entrants were in for trouble against Juventus, but the tale was different as they adopted a well-drilled approach at the Stadio Benito Stirpe and succeeded in keeping the firebrand visitors at bay until Ronaldo broke the deadlock in the 81st minute.

The Portuguese international, who cried on Wednesday night after he was controversially sent off in Juventus’ Champions League clash at Valencia, averted another catastrophic night when he latched on to a pass to produce a perfect strike into the right bottom corner from the edge of the box after a series of fruitless attacks.

The goal spurred on Juventus who began to enjoy more possession and create more clear openings, and Bernardeschi wrapped up the victory for the champions four minutes into extra time with after nicely controlling a pass and unleashing a powerful close-range shot into the bottom right corner with the goalkeeper caught ball watching.
