Former Real Madrid defender Roberto Carlos has hailed the club’s decision to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea.

Carlos, who won three Champions League titles with the side, believes the club have made a good decision as he claims Hazard is a player of the ‘highest level’ whose arrival will win everything for the side.

"Hazard is a player of the highest level who comes to win everything: the Champions League, La Liga and the Cup. For his part, [Luka] Jovic is a great player and he comes with great enthusiasm, I wish him good luck in Madrid.

"Last season was not what we expected, but we must not forget what we did in the previous five before that," he told Goal.

"Winning is always difficult, we have to think about La Liga first and then the Champions League. We have entered into a dynamic of always winning the Champions League and we forget the other competitions.

"If I were the coach of Madrid I would not change much. The team has won a lot in recent years and when you win too much, it's time to bring the group together and motivate them to win new competitions, nothing more than that.”

The former Lille forward after completing a staggering deal in the region of €100m (£88.5m) plus add-ons signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid and will be presented to the fans at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Thursday evening.

The Premier League's Playmaker of The Season was an integral figure for Chelsea last season, having helped the side book a Champions League spot with their third-place finish on the league log and Europa League title as he scored twice in the final at Baku against Arsenal.
