Pogba Thanks Mourinho For Improving His Personality

Paul Pogba has sent words of gratitude to Jose Mourinho thanking the former Manchester United manager for helping him ‘improve as a person.’

Mourinho was relieved of his job on Tuesday after a two and a half years as Red Devils manager, with one of his lows in the club being a reported strained relationship with Pogba.

Though the French midfielder was part of the Manchester United squad that won the League Cup and Europa League under Mourinho, the manager’s frequent public complains about the player and a training grounds outburst between the two gave indications to an irreparable damage.

Making matters worse was the player’s criticisms of Mourinho’s style of play and allegations that the French midfielder and World Cup winner made merry over the latter’s sacking on Twitter, a claim he has denied.

Speaking in a post-match interview after Manchester United had walloped Cardiff City on the caretaker coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first game in charge, Pogba said he was grateful to Mourinho for the successes they enjoyed together as well as the impact he made on his life.

"We won trophies with Jose and I want to thank him for that," he said.

"He makes me improve as a person as well and that is it. That is the past, I want to thank him for that."

I'm sure that is the same for all the players and now we are looking forward to the next game."

"The performance of the team was great and we are happy that the first game of the manager starts like this," he said. "It's important now to carry on like that."

"We cannot play like this and win with five goals and then the next game, lose."
