Mourinho: Chelsea Were Lucky To Get A Draw
By Joshua Walters
Jose Mourinho believes Chelsea were lucky to salvage a point from Manchester United at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Manchester United manager thinks the 2-2 stalemate was a good result for the hosts and a bad one for his side.
The high flying Chelsea needed a last minute goal from Ross Barkley to salvage a point from the less-fancied Manchester United, who had come from a goal down to lead 2-1 at the Bridge.
"We were the best team on the pitch”, said Mourinho. “If you said before the game that one point at Stamford Bridge is a good result, it is so difficult to win here, but after the game, and with the way the game was, it is an awful result for us and a phenomenal result for them."
Referee Michael Dean put six additional minutes on the game, and the Red Devils, who looked on course to ending the Blues’ unbeaten run with what would have been their first win at the Bridge in six seasons, conceded at the tail end of the period.
"I hope every referee does the same as Mike Dean and gives six minutes," he added. “I don't know where they came from. We always tried to play, there was no time-wasting."
