Lukaku Reveals Anger After Mourinho Snub

Being dropped by Jose Mourinho in some previous games filled Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku with ‘anger’, the striker has revealed, adding that a ten-minute frank discussion with the manager changed the situation.

Lukaku underperformed for Manchester United in the opening games of the season and was consequently benched in the Premier League match day-10 clash against Everton and Machester City in day-12.

The Belgian sat out of the league game against Bournemouth and the Champions League’s 4th round game against Juventus as a result of an injury.

Lukaku made the starting lineup against Crystal Palace on Saturday, but was benched again in Tuesday’s Champions League match day-5 clash against Young Boys.

The former Everton striker, who has four goals in 12 league games this season, revealed, in a post-match interview on Tuesday, his rage after the snub and how it was handled.

"I was like, oh wow, s***, it happened," Lukaku, who has not scored since September, told Bleacher Report of his reaction after his omission in the game against Everton.

“I had a conversation with the coach about it and I said: 'Listen, it's been a long year and also with the World Cup, I felt a bit tired.”

"He saw it. He made his decision."

"He said I didn't look happy, and that I was angry. And I said: 'Hell yeah I'm angry. Do you think I should smile?”

"Then we had a little chat and after that, we just moved on." "It was just like 10 minutes and then from then on it opened something in me, like a new fire to go and get what's mine."
