N’golo Kante has extended his stay at Chelsea on Friday, signing a five-year deal that will keep him at the Stamford Bridge until 2023.
Kante joined the London outfit, after winning the 2015/16 Premier League title with Leicester City for £32million, on a five-year deal, and a string of impressive performances has raised his demand with several European clubs said to be on his tail.
The French World Cup winner has, therefore, ended discussions about his future after Chelsea ripped up his old terms, which would have ended in 2021, and rewarded him with a deal that reflects his standing as one of the top players in Europe.
The new contract will see Kante earning £290,000 a week over the next five years, and the player expressed his delight and acknowledged his progress while wishing for more successful years with the Blues.
"I am happy to extend my time with Chelsea," Kante said after signing the new deal. It has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come."
"Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about. I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time."
