Juventus To Offload Five Players To Sign Paul Pogba
By Joshua Walters
According Italian newspaper, Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are ready to release five players to generate funds for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
Pogba has been linked with a move away from the Red Devils and Juventus seem to be leading the race for the services of the Frenchman.
The huge prices tag on the player has seen former kings of Europe, Real Madrid back out of the race to sign him.
But Pogba's former club Juventus are willing to bring him back to Turin as they are ready to let go of five of their players.
The five names currently on the chopping block are Juan Cuadrado, Douglas Costa, Mario Mandzukic, João Cancelo and Mattia Perin.
The Serie A Champions are expected to earn more from the sale of Joao Cancelo, who is a prime target for Pep Guardiola.
Manchester City are expected to cough out €50m for the in-form Portuguese right back as Guardiola believes the signing of the player will bring a huge competition to Kyle Walker who currently seems relaxed at the position.
The sale of the five players could fetch Juventus between €100m to €120m as that could be used to bring in Ajax's centre back Matthijs de Ligt who for sometime has been on their wish list should Pogba's deal stalls.
The Old Ladies of the Seie A believe bringing Pogba back to Italy will be easy since his future at United remain uncertain after the club's poor run in the 2018/19 season.
After the departure of their long serving manager Massimiliano Allegri, Juventus will like to improve their squad so to help Maurizio Sarri, who has been linked with the vacant position to challenge for European glory, a feat they failed to achieve under Allegri.
