Juventus Facing Injury Woes Ahead Of Man United Clash
By Joshua Walters
Juventus are facing injury crises ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League home game against Manchester United, manager Massimiliano Allegri has revealed.
The Old Lady hosts Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils at the Allianz Stadium in a Group-H game, having beaten the English side at Old Trafford by 1-0 in the reverse fixture.
Manchester United thus go to Turin for revenge with Allgeri also looking or a double, but there are fears the Italian champions may miss three of their attacking players.
(Giorgio) Chiellini will be available on Wednesday and (Federico) Bernardeschi should be too,” says Allegri at the pre-match presser.
“As for (Mario) Mandzukic, we need to take a look at his ankle and assess him.”
“Douglas Costa had a muscle problem, (Miralem) Pjanic was starting to feel a bit tired and (Blaise) Matuidi sustained a knock.”
“We must do better defensively in our own half. We take too many things for granted. We assume we'll score two or three goals every game, but we can't always do that. We have to be capable of grinding out 1-0 wins too.”
Juventus lead the group with nine points from three games and are followed by Manchester United, who have four points, Valencia, who are with two points, and Young Boy, who have a point.
