Ivan Perisic Dropped As Arsenal Move Lingers On
By Nigel Phillips
Ivan Perisic will not be part of Inter Milan’s squad to face Torino on Sunday as the player has been dropped amid speculations that he is joining Arsenal.
Perisic, a World Cup finalist with Croatia, has been at the centre of a transfer tussle between Inter Milan and Arsenal in the current January transfer window.
Arsenal have approached the Italian giants with a loan deal for the left-footed player, but the latter has rejected the offer and is rather asking for £35m for the 29-year-old.
Reports from the Italian media suggest there are no advanced negotiations going on between Arsenal and Inter Milan, but indications are that Perisic’s sitting out today’s game is a big indication his future is up in the air.
Sources close to Inter Milan say that Perisic is excited with the prospect of playing in the Premier League and the interest from Arsenal, having failed to complete a proposed move to Manchester United in the last two transfer windows.
Inter Milan travel to the Stadio Olympico de Torino with a clash against the local giants at 5 PM and Perisic’s future for the player who has been picked regularly as a starter this season will be on the discussion table.
