Hudson-Odoi Set To Sign New Chelsea Contract
By Joshua Walters
Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to extend his stay with the side as he is reported to be in advanced talks with the club’s hierarchy.
According to Daily Mail, the nimble attacker looks to sign a five-year-deal as Chelsea want to keep hold of their young players following their two-window transfer ban by FIFA.
Hudson-Odoi, an early bloomer has been on the wishlist of Bayern Munich, a side Chelsea rejected their bids for his services.
With the arrival of Frank Lampard, the 18-year-old is said to remain with the Stamford Bridge outfit as he is ready to commit himself to his boyhood club.
The in-form winger will sign a new deal worth more than £100,000 a week, but reports are that the deal could rise to £10 million a year depending on his performances.
Hudson-Odoi, who has just a year left on his current contract was said to be unhappy about limited first-team opportunities during Italian manager Maurizio Sarri’s era as the player wanted a move away from the side.
But the return of Lampard and his former Under 18 Chelsea manager, Jody Morris have allayed fears, with Lampard considering him to become central to his plans at Chelsea.
Having suffered an ankle injury last season, Hudson-Odoi is currently nursing his injury, expecting to be fit at the start of the new season.
Hudson-Odoi made his England debut in March against Czech Republic.
