Henry Not Worried If Monaco Face Relegation
By Joshua Walters
Thierry Henry has alluded to the possibility of AS Monaco dropping from the French Ligue 1 this season but says he will not be bothered if it happens as it is a usual occurrence in the sports.
The former Arsenal striker claims that his team does not have the quality possessed by some of the big teams in Europe who at one point or the other tasted relegation from their respective leagues.
Henry took charge as manager of the French club in October last year after long term manager Leonardo Jardim was sacked for non-performance.
Henry penned a three-year deal with the 2004 Champions League finalists and 2016/17 Ligue 1 champions after accepting to rescue the club from the shackles of relegation, but things have remained same.
Monaco sit on the 19th position on the league table with 15 points out of 21 games and Henry believes his team can be relegated just as it happened to most of the top clubs in Europe in times past.
“I will repeat. No need to always ask the same question, I would answer the same thing – Atletico Madrid have been relegated in the 90s with stronger players than us. [Real] Zaragoza as well more recently as you know.”
“I could talk about all the league worried If Monaco Face Relegation."
