Hazard Set To Join Real Madrid After Chelsea Agree

After the Spanish giants agreed an initial deal worth £88million with Chelsea earlier this morning, it is understood that Eden Hazard is on his way to Real Madrid.

Chelsea could receive in excess of about £130m should Eden Hazard’s move to Real Madrid materialise in what appears to be a ravishing piece of business for a 28-year-old who will be out of contract in a year's time.

After seven impressive years at Chelsea, the Belgian forward is expected to sign a six-year deal at Real Madrid.

And will be handed the no.7 shirt instead of the no.10 shirt which currently is occupied by the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner, Luka Modric.

After the signing of FC Porto’s Eder Militao and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic, Hazard is set to be Zinedine Zidane’s third signing as he looks to build a formidable side for the coming season.

Real Madrid’s President, Florentino Perez in an interview with Onda Cero a radio station in Spain added up by saying: “I have a feeling that Eden Hazard will be coming this year.”

“I am very interested in him coming to Real Madrid and I am very hopeful he will come in. He is one of the greats of the world of football.”

“How are we going to talk to a club that is playing a final (the Europa League), we have been trying for several years that Hazard is a Madrid player but we have not yet achieved it.”

Hazard’s seven-year stay at the Stamford Bridge has been highly productive and has established himself as the most important asset of the club for the number of years he has been there.

Since joining Chelsea from Lille in 2012, the Belgium national team captain has lifted Europa League twice, won two Premier League titles and one FA Cup.

Hazard put up one of his splendid performances against Arsenal in the Europa League final, helping his side to lift the trophy with his brace.

He confirmed leaving Chelsea and seeking a new challenge after the game by saying:

"Yes, I think this is goodbye,” he said. “It's time for a new challenge.”
