Hazard Eyes Chelsea Legendary Status

Eden Hazard has expressed his desire to cement a place in Chelsea's history after his brace in the Blues' 2-1 victory over Watford at Vicarage Stadium on Wednesday took him past the 100-goal mark for the club.

Hazard has now scored 101 goals for Chelsea in 322 appearances since joining from French club Lille for £32m in the summer of 2012.

The 27-year-old Belgian has now scored 10 Premier League goals this season, and his nine assists so far means he is the player with the most involvement in goals this season.

Hazard has not hidden his desire to join Real Madrid after declaring it would be a "dream" to join the European champions earlier in the season, but his latest proclamation could mean an extension to his six-year stay at Stamford Bridge.

"To score 101 goals with this amazing club is something I will never forget, but now the fans, staff, and players want more," said Hazard, who helped Chelsea win the Premier League title in 2015 and 2017.

"I want to score more for this club and then try to be a legend like Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, and John Terry."

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has recently deployed Hazard in a central striking position with both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud out-of-sorts and contributing just six Premier League goals between them, compared to Hazard's ten.

"Eden Hazard can play in every position," added Blues boss Maurizio Sarri. "He played very well with two goals and could have had two or three assists. He can play with team-mates very well."

Hazard now becomes the 10th player in Chelsea's history to score 100 goals for the club with Frank Lampard leading the way with 211 goals.

Chelsea's victory over Watford took them back into the top four after Arsenal temporarily overtook them having gained a point at Brighton and Hove Albion.
