Harry Maguire Vows To Repay Leicester City Trust
By Danny Ward
Defender Harry Maguire has pledged to repay the trust reposed in him by the Leicester City hierarchy since his arrival from Hull City in 2017.
The center back joined the Foxes for £17 million and burst to prominence after featuring for England at the 2018 World Cup, where he scored in the quarterfinal win over Sweden.
Maguire, who was a target for Manchester United and clubs in Europe, has been rewarded by City with a new 5-year contract, and the player tells LCFC TV the gesture is a trust he would pay back.
"Ever since I came to this club, I've always reiterated how good they've been to me.”
"They gave me an opportunity to play in the Premier League and built a great platform for me to go and perform at the World Cup, so I thank them a lot. I owe them a lot and I'm looking forward to the future.”
"It's massive, obviously the chairman has come and he wanted to reward me with a good contract and to add more years to the contract, so it is nice to have security behind me but now I am looking forward to the season ahead.”
Maguire states further: "It has been a good start that we have had and I am looking forward to getting more points on the board.”
"The supporters, ever since I came to the club have been absolutely brilliant with me. I am looking forward to playing in front of them a lot more.
"We have got a good group of players here now and a great staff, with a great team behind us, and I am looking forward to the future."
