Griezmann sure of winning Ballon D

Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann has told French newspaper, L’Equipe, he has a chance at winning the Ballon d’Or award for the 2017/18 season.

Antoine Griezmann had a successful season with Atletico Madrid last year, winning the UEFA Europa League and the Super cup aside annexing the 2018 World Cup with France in Russia.

The versatile offensive player could not make the three-man shortlist of the 2017/18 FIFA Best Men’s Player award, but believes he has the credentials to win the Ballon d’Or award to be organized by the French Football Magazine in December 2018.

“I think about it, especially since I'm getting closer.” The Frenchman said as he thinks he is closer to winning it.

Atletico Madrid lost the 2016 Champions League final to Real Madrid, and Griezmann lost the Ballon d’Or to Ronaldo that year having made the three-man shortlist with the Portuguese star and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
