Douglas Costa: Only Neymar Knows His Next Destination
By Joshua Walters
Juventus forward Douglas Costa says only Neymar knows where he will be playing next season amid rumors of a Barcelona return for the playmaker.
Having stressed he has no idea of where his fellow countryman will end up next season, the former Bayern Munich forward believes Neymar will make the right decision at the end.
Neymar is reportedly available for a move away from the French giants as Barcelona and Real Madrid are said to be interested in the player.
The 27-year-old completed a staggering €222 million switch to Paris Saint-Germain after a successful four-year spell at Barcelona.
But Neymar has failed to achieve the main reason why the Paris based club signed him from Barcelona which was to win a Champions League trophy.
With the club frequently tasting quarter-final elimination from the competition, Neymar’s arrival has failed to overcome that omen.
In connection with the aforementioned reason and also displaying acts of insubordination last term, the club seems ready to offload him in the summer transfer window and Douglas Costa insists only the football juggler knows where he will be next season.
"I have no idea [where Neymar will go], I guess nobody knows - only Neymar," Costa said.
"That's a very personal decision but he will choose the best for his career."
After commenting on the future of his national team compatriot, the pacey winger believes the arrival of Maurizio Sarri at Juventus is a good decision by the club and he thinks the side can develop under the Italian trainer.
"I don't know [Sarri] personally," he said. "I could see his work when he was at Napoli and I believe he's a great coach because he had an amazing season in my first year in Italy.
"I think we all have great things we can develop with Sarri."
