Dortmund Reward Sancho With New 4-Year Deal

Borussia Dortmund have rewarded youngster Jadon Sancho with a new four-year deal after an explosive start to the 2018/19 Bundesliga season.
Sancho joined the Yellow and Blacks from Manchester City in August 2017 for a fee reported to be around £8 million, after failing to nail down a first-team place at the Etihad Stadium.
He was only 17 then, and Lucien Favre’s side was allowed to give him only a three-year deal due to his age.
The English-born winger has gone on to shine as Dortmund lead the Bundesliga table after six games, and his new contract keeps him at the Signal Iduna Park until 2022.
Sancho leads the Bundesliga assists chart with five and has scored once himself, all from the substitute bench as he is yet to start a league game this season.
The teenager thinks his decision to leave the Premier League side has paid off by his regular involvement at the Westphalia-based club.
"I am very glad that I decided to change to Dortmund just over a year ago because everything turned out to be true: this city lives football like no other, and at BVB young players are given opportunities," he told the club's website.
"Here I can develop excellently. I am completely happy and satisfied and proud to be part of this team. Here's to something great.
His impressive performances have led to people calling for his inclusion in England coach, Gareth Southgate’s, next call-up, and Dortmund’s Sporting Director, Michael Zorc, believes the sky is just the limit for the 18-year-old.
"Jadon Sancho is certainly one of the most exciting players in Europe. With the contract extension, we take account of his very, very positive development."
