According to Press Association Sport, Chelsea have agreed to a deal to let their Italian trainer Maurizio Sarri join Juventus.

Reports are that the London-based club have agreed to a compensation deal worth £5million to pave way for Sarri to return to the Serie A.

Maurizio Sarri, who previously enjoyed a three-year campaign with Napoli will now replace departed Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus for the 2019/20 season.

The 60-year-old tactician is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Serie A champions as the club is set to make the announcement as early as Friday.

After just a year with Chelsea having replaced his fellow Italian trainer, Antonio Conte, Sarri will now leave Stamford Bridge.

Despite guiding the Blues to third position on the league log and winning the Europa League, Sarri's spell at Chelsea endured  tough moments as some section of the fans were not happy with his style of play.

It is assumed that Sarri has opted for a move away from the club to be at the helm of the Italian champions.

Allegri, who left Juventus after spending five seasons was linked with the Chelsea job before the 51-year-old hinted on Thursday that he will be out of the game for a year to “recharge his batteries”.

After the revelation from Allegri, Frank Lampard, who is Chelsea’s former player has been considered as the favourite to be the new boss.

The 40-year-old's impressive run with Derby County in his first season as a manager has caught the eyes of the Chelsea hierarchy after he guided the championship club to the play-off final before they were defeated by Aston Villa.

Lampard will become Chelsea’s first permanent English manager in 23 years should he land the job as the new boss of the club.
