UEFA Champ League Quarter Final Draw: Man United Draw Barca
By Joshua Walters
Manchester United's progress in the UEFA Champions League has been put on the sword as they have been paired against Barcelona in the quarter-final.
The Red Devils surprised the football world to overturn a 2-0 home defeat with a 3-1 away win to advance at the expense of Paris Saint-Germain on the away goal aggregate.
Manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who capped his rejuvenation of the Old Trafford club with that unexpected win, has another tough tie in his hands as he comes up against pre-championship favourites, Barcelona.
United will host the Spanish giants at Old Trafford in the first-leg and finish off the tie with a trip away to Camp Nou, where the likes of Lionel Messi, Luiz Suarez, and Ousmane Dembele have contributed to make it a fortress.
Making it worse for the Red Devils ahead of the tie is the unfavourable record they have against the club, who they have lost to in their last two meetings.
The pairings which were done on Friday as the competition's organisers also paired Tottenham Hotspurs with fellow English club Manchester City in an all-Premier League affair.
Ajax, who pulled a surprised to eliminate the defending Champions, Real Madrid, will welcome Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus at the Johan Cruyff Arena in the first leg tie before the concluding leg at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.
Last season's losing finalists, Liverpool, will host Portuguese club FC Porto, who last won the trophy in 2004.
