Bayern Boss Denies Players Disunity Claims

Niko Kovac has denied reports that there is disunity in his team and insisted that ‘the atmosphere in the dressing room is peaceful’.

Kovac admitted on Friday that some players are disappointed with their lack of playing time, but insisted that has not broken the frontiers of the club.

Bayern Munich’s six-season dominance of the Bundesliga is under threat this season as they have gone three straight games without a win and are currently 2nd on the log behind Dortmund.

The problem looks same for the Bavarians in the Champions League, where they have won one game and drawn one, and are 2nd behind Ajax.

Kovac’s side welcomes Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday, and a win would calm things down, though the former Frankfurt manager insists there is harmony in his dressing room.

“The atmosphere in the dressing room is a positive one,' the Croatian coach said.

“Some are of course disappointed not to play, and we're also disappointed with recent results. Nevertheless, there is a real sense of unity in the team.”

“We have a lot of international players. There will always be cases where one player plays and another doesn't,” Kovac said.

"James is a player of extraordinary quality and is important for the club," claims Kovac when asked if James Rodriguez would feature on Saturday. "He showed that against Schalke, against Benfica, and then against Ajax when he came on."

"He's proved that several times, but I can't play with 12 men. He will play as many games as others."
