Massimiliano Allegri has won the Italian Coach of the Year award for the second consecutive time.

The Juventus manager pipped Maurizio Sarri, who left Napoli for Chelsea this season, and Lazio’s Simone Inzaghi to clinch the award.

Allegri helped Juventus to the Serie A and Coppa Italia titles last season with the former representing the Turin club's seventh in a row and the latter being their thirteenth.

The Italian trainer is out to retain the Serie A title this season, having gone ten games without defeat and top the league with six points more than Napoli aside and also topping Group-H of the Champions League.

"I thank my staff, who take so much pressure off me and let me grow older more slowly," he said upon collecting his award."

"I hope to stay here for a long time."

"Now I'm more reflective. My years of experience in Serie A have let me grow."

"The objective is to win our eighth Scudetto and then the Champions League."

"We'll see if we have a bit of luck on our side. The level has risen, so we must have the quality to match."

"For the Scudetto, however, our attentions are on Napoli and Inter."
