Abraham Hoping To Use Chelsea Ban To Launch Career

Tammy Abraham is hoping to capitalize on Chelsea’s two-window transfer ban and finally establish himself as a first team regular at Stamford Bridge.
Abraham has spent the last three seasons on loan at Bristol City, Swansea City and Aston Villa to gain more experience and make the upgrade to Chelsea’s senior team.
The 21-year old striker scored 26 goals last season to help Aston Villa gain promotion to the English Premier League via the championship play-offs but will return to Chelsea for pre-season next month.
Chelsea are unable to sign new players after FIFA banned them for two transfer windows.
The Blues have already lost the services of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, while Gonzalo Higuain will likely return to parent club Juventus for next season and Alvaro Morata’s loan deal with Atletico Madrid still has one year to run.
The exit of these players leave Chelsea short in the forward areas which Abraham is hoping to take advantage of.
Chelsea have produced some exciting young players in recent years with the club’s u-18’s winning both the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League in 2015 and 2016 but few of these players have made it into the first team.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi are just two of Chelsea’s academy graduates who enjoyed regular first team football last season, and Abraham who has two senior caps for the English national team, is hoping the club’s young players take advantage of the transfer ban and become a mainstay in the first team.
“This year is the most important year for us. It is now or never,” Abraham said.
“There will never be a better time to play the youngsters. Of course the transfer ban is probably not what the club wanted but for us it is exciting. I am excited and I am sure the rest of the players are.
“There is a great chance for us young players so we must get our heads down in training and go for it at Chelsea. I have already been talking to the club about pre-season. I’m going to have a couple of weeks and then come back hitting the ground running.
“There is no better time for a young player to be at Chelsea. I am going to give it my all. With a new manager coming in there is no better time to show what I am made of in pre-season. I am just buzzing at the thought of the new season.”
