Pogba Confesses That Liverpool Deserve To Be Champions

Jurgen Klopp’s men extended their lead at the top of the table to 22 points after beating West Ham United 3-2 at Anfield on Monday.

Liverpool now need just four more wins to confirm their status as the champions of England for the first time in three decades.

The Reds are unbeaten so far this season, winning 26 of their 27 league matches and they matched Manchester City’s record of 18 straight league wins with Monday’s triumph over the Hammers.

Pogba, who has endured an injury-hit campaign for Manchester United this season, has been observing things from afar and feels the league leaders will be worthy winners although that is hard to admit.

"They are so way ahead of everyone else," Pogba told ESPN.

"They have not lost a single game yet this season in the league. They already have one hand on the Premier League trophy.

"As a Manchester United player and with the rivalry between us, we don't want them to win the title. We don't want anyone else to win apart from us, but as a football lover and a respectful player to opposition team, I have to say that they deserve to be where they are today.

"They have been even better than last season when they won the Champions League and the season before when they [lost the final to Real Madrid]."
