Tielemans Brushes Off Links To Liverpool
Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has brushed aside rumors linking him with a move to Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are on the market for a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, who has joined Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer, and have reportedly earmarked Tielemans to fill the void left by the Dutchman.
Tielemans is currently on international duty with Belgium at EURO 2020, and helped the Red Devils record a 3-0 win over Russia in their opening game on Saturday.
“I don't think about it. I am focusing on the Euros. I don't listen to transfer rumours,” he told a press conference on Monday afternoon.
“No matter how much I am valued, it doesn't change anything for me. I just want to make the best Euros I can.”
"That's really none of my business right now.
“Let the journalists speak. They undoubtedly have a lot to do with that. But I don't care about that. All I can do is make sure that I am as good as possible on the pitch.”
The 24-year-old joined Leicester City permanently in the summer of 2019 following a six-month loan spell at the King Power Stadium from AS Monaco.
Tielemans scored the winning goal as Leicester beat Chelsea 1-0 to lift the FA Cup last season but the Foxes once again failed to secure a Champions League spot on the final day of the campaign.
