Russia have been excluded from the qualifying phase for EURO 2024, UEFA have announced.

Russia Excluded From EURO 2024 Qualifying Phase

The decision comes following the country's invasion of Ukraine in February, which has drawn worldwide condemnation.

It is the latest in a long line of repercussions Russia have suffered since its invasion of Ukraine.

The Russian city of Saint Petersburg was supposed to host the 2022 Champions League final but it was instead moved to Paris, where Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0.

Russia were also prevented from taking part in the World Cup playoffs earlier this year, which means they will not be playing at the Mundiale, four years after hosting the tournament.

Russian clubs have also been banned from competing in the Champions League, Europa League and UEFA Conference League while their Women's teams are barred from continental and international tournaments.

"All Russian teams are currently suspended following the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee of February 28, 2022 which has further been confirmed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on July 15, 2022. Russia is therefore not included in the UEFA European Football Championship 2022-24 qualifying draw," a statement read.

EURO 2024 will be hosted by Germany and the draw for the qualification phase will conducted on October 9.
