Osimhen Commits Future To Napoli Until 2026
Victor Osimhen has committed his future to Napoli with a new contract that will run until the summer of 2026.
Osimhen's future had been called into question after his relationship with Napoli appeared strained following the posting of a TikTok video by the club earlier in the season that mocked his penalty miss.
But Osimhen insisted all was well and this new deal will ensure links with the likes of Chelsea will cool down for the time being.
Osimhen was instrumental in Napoli's first Serie A title in 33 years last season as he scored 26 goals in the Italian top flight.
His previous contract would have expired in 2025.
Napoli posted pictures of Osimhen with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis with the caption: “Victor & Napoli together until 2026.”
Earlier this month, the Nigeria international was named Serie A player of the year following a season in which he became the first African to emerge top scorer in the Italian top flight with his 26 goals in 32 games.
Osimhen also earned a spot in the Serie A team of the year and finished in eighth position at the recent Ballon D'or awards.
Osimhen has also recently been crowned Africa Footballer of the year for 2023.
