Neymar Hints Qatar Could Be His Last World Cup

Paris Saint Germain superstar Neymar has hinted that the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar could be his last for Brazil.

Neymar Hints Qatar Could Be His Last World Cup

Neymar has already played at two world cups for the Selecao, helping them reach the semi-final stage on home soil in 2014 before a quarterfinal exit at the hands of Belgium in Russia four years later.

Brazil, who have not won the World Cup since 2002, are on the cusp of booking their place in Qatar as they boast nine wins from nine in the South America qualifiers.

Neymar will be 34 by the time the 2026 World Cup is hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico but the former Barcelona forward doubts he will have the mental fortitude to compete at the highest level one more time.

"I think it's my last World Cup," the 29-year-old said in DAZN's exclusive new documentary, Neymar The Line Of Kings.

"I see it as my last because I don't know if I have the strength of mind to deal with football any more.

"So I'll do everything to turn up well, do everything to win with my country, to realise my greatest dream since I was little. And I hope I can do it."

Brazil will travel to Colombia for their next game in the qualifiers later on Sunday, with Neymar back in contention after missing their previous game through suspension.
