Mane Returns To Liverpool Training
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has resumed training following a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Mane suffered the injury in Liverpool’s 2-1 away win at Wolverhampton Wanderers on January 23 and has subsequently missed games against West Ham United, Southampton and Shrewsbury Town.
The 2019 African Footballer of the year’s return will be a welcome boost to Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool aim to further tighten their grip on their lead at the top of the league table.
The 27-year-old Senegalese has made 31 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season, scoring 15 goals.
Liverpool are 22 points ahead of champions Manchester City as their three-decade wait for a first top flight title edges ever closer.
Mane looks likely to be available for selection when Liverpool travel to Carrow Road to face bottom side Norwich City in the Premier League on Saturday.
The European champions will then turn their attention towards defending their continental title when they visit Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 stage on Tuesday.
Liverpool have also welcomed back vice-captain James Milner, who has been out of action since the FA Cup third round victory over Everton on January 5.
