Rashford has bounced back from a disappointing 2021/2022 campaign, during which he only scored five goals in 32 appearances across all competitions.

This term, the England international has looked more like the Rashford of old and even better, scoring a career-high 25 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions.

That tally includes 17 goals since the season resumed after the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Last week, he scored the insurance goal when Erik Ten Hag's side defeated Newcastle United 2-0 to win the Carabao Cup at Wembley.

Rashford has already won two Premier League player of the month awards this season and is in contention for a third after being nominated alongside Ollie Watkins, Bernd Leno, Manor Solomon, Kelechi Iheanacho and Emerson Royal for the February award.

Liverpool will meet Manchester United in the top flight on Sunday and ahead of the game, Klopp could not help but eulogise the Red Devils' number 10.

"It's pretty much impossible to be happy about something positive at Manchester United when you are the Liverpool manager," Klopp said ahead of the game.

"But I am really happy for Rashford because he had a very difficult last year where he was not performing on the level that he is able to perform.

"Now he is playing incredible. His speed, his technique - it is a mix of everything, how calm he is in front of goal, he scores 'worldies', he scores the simple ones."
