'Ibrahimovic Key To My Development' – Rashford Thanks Ex-Red Devil
England forward Marcus Rashford has admitted his former Manchester United team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of the reasons he has become the player he is today.
As one of Jose Mourinho’s first signings during his time at Old Trafford, Ibrahimovic joined Manchester United in the summer of 2016 on a one-year contract.
The globetrotting striker scored 29 goals in 53 games for the club before joining Major League soccer outfit LA Galaxy in March 2018 following an injury which brought the end of his adventure in English football.
Rashford has praised the former Paris Saint-Germain forward and insists Ibrahimovic’s mentality is beyond everything he has ever seen.
"His mentality was beyond anything I'd ever played with before," the Manchester United academy graduate told UTD Podcast.
"He didn't care what anyone would say to him or what anyone was saying about him.”
"In terms of his mentality he was key to my development, especially when Jose was there because he was someone who had played under him before and he knew you had to be a certain type of way to survive under him."
Rashford has been in good form for club and country this season, having scored 19 goals in 31 appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, before suffering a double stress fracture in his back against Wolverhampton Wanderers in January.
