Tottenham and France national team captain, Hugo Lloris, has been charged with drink- driving, the Metropolitan police have confirmed.
A police statement said the world cup winner was arrested during a police routine check on Friday.
"A man has been charged following a routine patrol stop in Gloucester Place, W1."
"Hugo Lloris, 31, of East Finchley was charged with drink-driving on Friday, August 24."
The statement further confirmed that the shots-stopper was granted bail, but will face trial on September 11, 2018.
"He has been bailed to return to Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 11."
France are billed to play the Netherlands in a UEFA Nations League match two days after the trial, and it is not certain if Lloris would be part of Didier Deschamps’ squad.
