Solskjaer Wants Long-Term Man United Stay

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not looking to end his short-term managerial role at Manchester United anytime soon as he has disclosed his desire to have the job on a long-term.

The Manchester United legend was appointed by the club until the end of the season to replace Jose Mourinho following the side’s unimpressive run in the 2018/19 Premier League campaign.

The 20-time Premier League champions are looking to recapture the old form that made them fearsome under Sir Alex Ferguson who led the side to 13 league titles in a 26-year stint at the club.

The Norwegian has steered the club to four straight wins with 14 goals and also changed the team’s playing pattern to one that gives hope for a better future for the side.

Solskjaer’s Manchester United had their latest triumph in a 2-0 win over Newcastle United at the St. James’ Park on Wednesday night, and the manager, known in his playing days as a super-substitute, disclosed afterwards that he will love to be at the club for a long time.

“I don't want to (leave) - of course, I won't,” said the former striker who spent 11 seasons at the club under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Solskjaer described the atmosphere at old Trafford as ‘fantastic’ citing that and the quality of the players at his disposal as the reason for the instant successes.

“It's such a great bunch of players, fantastic atmosphere, but it's the next game, it's the next game.”

“I'm doing my job as long as I'm here. If you win four you can win another four with this club.”

“That's the challenge, that's the standard we know. That used to be the challenge from the gaffer (Sir Alex Ferguson).”
