Fraser Fears Price Tag Could Put Arsenal Off
By Max Wise
Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser fears Arsenal could be put off by the hefty transfer fee being demanded by the club.
Fraser is a rumoured target for the Gunners as Unai Emery looks to add some firepower to his attacking armory but Bournemouth are reportedly demanding £30m before letting go of their prized asset.
Fraser emerged as one of the Premier League’s most creative players last season as his 14 assists was only bettered by Eden Hazard, who took home the Premier League Playmaker of the Year award for laying on 15 assists for his teammates.
Fraser has just one year remaining on his current contract and will depart the Vitality stadium for free at the end of next season if Bournemouth fail to commit him to a new deal.
In an interview with the Scotsman, Fraser said: "I honestly don't think anyone will be paying that [£30m]."
"It was six or seven months ago that we last spoke about my future, but nothing since. Even in the end of season meeting I had with the manager [Eddie Howe], we didn't speak about my future.
"He knows I'm not one to speak about it. If something happens, it will happen. If it doesn't, then I'm not one to throw my rattle out of the pram."
Fraser was an ever-present for Bournemouth in the league last season, scoring seven goals as the Cherries finished the campaign in 14th place.
