Alexis Sanchez Splits Up With Girlfriend

Alexis Sanchez’s performance has dipped at Manchester United this season, and the Chilean star gave a hint on Thursday about what is the reason for it.

Sanchez announced the split up between him and his 29-year-old long-term girlfriend, Mayte Rodriguez, on his Instagram page with an emotional goodbye song playing in the background.

The versatile offensive player shared a photo of him and the actress with an emotional parting message that shows how deeply he is affected by the split up emotionally and the torrid times he is having off the pitch.

“I wish you the best of the world”, Sanchez wrote on his page in Spanish. “It was beautiful to have met you and to share nice moments with you, but we decided that each one should follow their own path, to seek our dreams.”

“I do not usually do this, but I ask respect from all those who speak without knowing to do harm because behind everything there is family and children... respect."

Sanchez had enough rest this summer as his country missed out of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Many expected the player to hit the ground running this season, but that has not been the case as has been a pale shadow of himself.

Sanchez was a 2nd half come-on against Leicester City, missed out on the trip to Brighton and the visit of Tottenham, and was replaced in the 60th minute at Burnley last week.

Sanchez looked gloomy and frustrated as he left the pitch to the bench where he was captured on camera furiously removing his tape from his socks and throwing it on the ground.
