Pogba made the comments while comparing Mourinho to current Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Mourinho re-signed Pogba for the Red Devils in the summer of 2016 for a then-world record fee of £89m from Juventus but the pair’s relationship fell apart before the Portuguese manager was sacked in December 2018 and replaced by Solskjaer.

"What I have now with [current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer] is different, he wouldn't go against the players," Pogba told Sky Sports. "He wouldn't go against the players.

"Maybe Ole wouldn't pick them, but it's not like he puts them on the side like they don't exist anymore.

"That's the difference between Mourinho and Ole.

"Once I had a great relationship with Mourinho, everybody saw that, and the next day you don't know what happened. That's the strange thing I had with Mourinho, and I cannot explain to you because even I don't know. So, yeah."

Speaking after Tottenham drew 2-2 with Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Friday, Mourinho brushed off Pogba’s criticism, insisting that he ‘couldn’t care less.’

"I would like to say that I couldn't care less with what he says. I couldn't care less. Not interested at all," the former FC Porto, Chelsea and Inter Milan boss told Sky Sports.
