Insigne Relaxed Over Napoli Contract Situation

The 30-year-old Italy international’s current terms at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium expires in the summer of 2022.

Insigne has been courting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with his future in Naples unclear but the EURO 2020 winner seems unperturbed about the situation.

Insigne will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club from January 2022 if he does not sign a new contract with Napoli.

With Napoli having made a flying start under manager Luciano Spalletti in the 2021/2022 season, Insigne says he is more concerned with matters on the pitch.

'I only think about playing and about what happens on the pitch,' Insigne told Sky Sport Italia.

'My agent takes care of the other issues.

'I always put the team in front, I always work hard and I always arrive with a smile. I don’t think about the contract, there’s time to discuss with the club.

'My agent and the club will take care of it, I still have one year.'

Napoli have started the Serie A season on a high, winning all six of their opening league games.

Insigne has featured in every one of those games, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
