Manchester United have not won the league title since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down as head coach after the 2012-2013 season, the closest to that was a second-placed finish behind champions Manchester City during the 2017-18 season, under the tutelage of Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho.

Kleberson has admitted he was happy when the Norwegian tactician was appointed as United’s manager and believes Solskjaer is the right man to manage the Red Devils to win the Premier League title.

“When I saw he was coaching at United I was really happy for him," the former Manchester United man told Goal.

"He has a good personality, is very positive and confident and he knows what he is looking for.”

"I know he’s got a lot of management technique from Sir Alex Ferguson and he’s very good at what he does.

"A lot has changed at United recently. They’re looking for young players and that’s a big change. I’m sure he can make United a top team again and win the Premier League.”

The 2002 World Cup winner played with Solskjaer for two years during his time at Old Trafford before joining Turkish side Besiktas in the summer of 2005.

Kleberson is the current head coach of Philadelphia Union Academy, a team which compete in the United Soccer League.
