Lazio President: Keeping Milinkovic-Savic Will Be Difficult

Lazio President, Claudio Lotito, says it will not be easy to reject a bumper offer for Sergei Milinkovic-Savic should such a deal come from any of Europe’s top clubs.

The 23-year-old Serbian midfielder was courted by some top clubs in the summer but stayed at the Stadio Olimpico after signing a contract extension.

Milinkovic-Savic has a €150 million release clause in his contract with Simone Inzaghi's side, and Lotito admits it will be difficult for Lazio to keep hold of their prized asset if any club triggers the clause.

"Nowadays it is very complicated for a player to tie himself to a club for his entire career," Lotito tells Calciomercato.com.

"However, Lazio are doing well. Our players show great affection for the club and perhaps are persuaded to stay for what we are doing on an infrastructural level, with the recent renovation of our training ground."

"Unfortunately, Lazio don't have the economic power of Barcelona and Real Madrid, so if a once-in-a-lifetime offer comes in, it does pose a problem or us."
