Kante Nears New Record-Breaking Chelsea Deal

Chelsea’s midfielder, N’golo Kante, is close to signing a bumper five-year deal with the Stamford Bridge club.

The French World Cup winner is currently on a £150,000 weekly wage in a deal that will expire in 2021.

Chelsea, reportedly, will soon table to the player a £290,000 a week deal.

The 27-year-old's impressive performances have caught the eyes of some top European clubs, including Paris Saint Germain, who are bent on pricing the utility midfielder away from the London-based outfit.

The deal will make Kante the highest paid player at Chelsea, but the Blues are willing to go that length as a means to fend off all prospective suitors.

Kante, who in 2015 was an unknown figure in French side Caen, has risen from obscurity in the space of four years to become a World Cup winner, two-time Premier League holder and Professional Footballers Association (PFA) Player of the year winner.

The former Leicester City player scored Chelsea’s first goal of the Premier League campaign and has featured in the Blues' all twelve games so far.
