Isco Close To Joining Chelsea

Real Madrid midfielder, Isco, is on the verge of joining Chelsea as reports in Spain suggest he is unhappy at Los Blancos and wants to change clubs.

Isco has been struggling for a first-team place since the sacking of Julen Lopetegui and the arrival of Santiago Solari, who was put on interim charge from the club’s academy before getting the nod a three-year deal.

Chelsea are currently playing a high pressing game under  Maurizio Sarri this season, and the Stamford Bridge hierarchy believes Isco’s possessive style, attacking, and dribbling qualities will make him an excellent fit in the setup.

According to Spanish sports newspaper, Marca, the Blues are willing to cough out £72.3 million for the former Malaga player whose current contract with Madrid expires in 2022.

Isco has played eleven LaLiga games this season, scored one goal and made as many assists aside scoring just once in four Champions League appearances.

Marca reports that the player is unhappy with his part-playing role at Real Madrid, and the situation, coupled with the looming January transfer window, according to the tabloid, has put some top clubs including English giants Manchester City on high alert.

It is also said that Real Madrid are unwilling to sell Isco to Pep Guardiola's team for fear that the Spanish trainer, and Barcelona’s legend and former player may sooner than later influence him to join their sworn rivals whose interest in the player is also an open secret.

Chelsea are 4th on the Premier League log with 37 points and trail leaders Manchester City by seven points, and the club, as reported by Marca, thinks the Spanish national team player will be an added asset in their charge for the 2018/19 Premier League title.
