Ibrahimovic Throws Support Behind Mourinho

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has tipped Jose Mourinho to win laurels for Manchester United, but says there is a limit the Portuguese trainer can go if the players are not good.

Mourinho has steered the Red Devil’s to their worst ever Premier League start this season with four wins, one draw and three defeats.

The all-time Premier League champions are placed 8th on the 2018/19 league log with 13 points, seven points adrift leaders Manchester City who are tied on points with Chelsea and Liverpool.

Mourinho has not just been hounded for his game records, but his man management following spats with Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw and recently Alexis Sanchez, Antonio Valencia, and Paul Pogba.

But, Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes Mourinho is capable of changing the Red Devils’ fortunes, but with a good team; something he sees in the current squad.

"I think he has the ability to win the Premier League,” says the striker who worked with Mourinho and scored 38 times for the Old Trafford outfit. "I think he is the right coach for that club and team.

"But a coach is only as good as his team, so it's not like he can do miracles if the team is not good enough.

"And I feel the team is good - it's progressing, becoming better.

"This is his third year, the players know more and more the way he wants to play and how he wants - so I believe, yes."
