Chelsea-Bound Pulisic Expresses Gratitude To Dortmund Fans

Christian Pulisic has paid a glowing tribute to the Borussia Dortmund fraternity after marking his last game at the Signal Iduna Park with a goal in Saturday’s 3-2 victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The 20-year-old United States of America international will move to Europa League finalists, Chelsea, at the end of the season after agreeing a £58m move to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

"Obviously a very emotional day for me, being the last time in this stadium," he told BT Sport.

"I've played so many games here now, it feels like just yesterday I came here as a 15-year-old kid.

"To be out here and to be able to score a goal today in my last game in front of these fans, there's no better feeling."

He added: "I mean all these fans, the entire stadium, I'll never forget, without these fans I wouldn't have been able to do what I do so I'm just so thankful for every opportunity that I got."

Pulisic’s goal on Saturday, helped send the Bundesliga title race to the final day of the season after leaders, Bayern Munich, failed to wrap up the title with a goalless draw away at RB Leipzig.

Dortmund are now on 73 points, two points behind Bayern Munich, with just one game to go, and Pulisic is not giving up on winning a first Bundesliga title before leaving for England.

"We're never going to give up, all we have to do is take care of business next game and win," he said.

"That's all we can do and of course it comes down to another result."

Pulisic has made 19 league appearances for Dortmund this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
