Bernardo Silva Cautions City To Concentrate On Premier League

Manchester City will have to put behind their Champions League heartbreak and focus on winning the Premier League title, says Bernardo Silva.

The Citizens were handed a shocking exit from the elite European inter-club competition by Tottenham Hotspurs on Wednesday.

Pep Guardiola's side after winning 4-3, but failed to progress to the semi-final as they pegged the tie at 4-4 on goal aggreagate but lost on the away goal rule, having lost the reverse fixture by 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium last week.

The loss on Wednesday night ruined City’s dream for a quadruple and the side is now left with the Premier League and the FA Cup whose final they will play against Watford in May this year.

Silva is demanding full concentration from the Sky Blues’ and cautions that they must move on from the defeat and concentrate on the Premier League title hopes.

“We have a game in three days against Tottenham, again here at home.

“We need the three points to win.

“Obviously we are disappointed but we will have to forget about it and go for the competitions we are still in.

“It’s not the time for revenge, it’s time for another competition, time to keep us alive in the title race.

“We will try to win the game in the same way we did last night, knowing that we are playing against a very good team.

“That will make it difficult for us.

“We know Liverpool are probably winning all their games so we have to win all our games.

“Our focus is to win three points after three points and at the end of it try to celebrate the title.”
