Tuchel Tells Neymar To Accept PSG Boos
Paris Saint Germain manager Thomas Tuchel has asked Neymar to accept being booed by the club’s fans after the Brazilian made a goalscoring return on Saturday.
Neymar was jeered throughout the game against Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes but he redeemed himself with an injury time winner that took the champions two points clear at the top of the table.
The game was Neymar’s first of the season and it came at the back of the PSG ultras issuing a warning to their star man to expect a hostile reception after he unsuccessfully tried to engineer a move to Barcelona in the summer.
"It was not easy because he is a sensitive guy, but he did well," Tuchel told a news conference.
"That's the life, it's not easy for the fans too during the transfer market. That's why we have to accept their behaviour. I don't want to judge their behaviour, it's like that. It was not easy.
"He can play better, with more dribbling and more runs. He needs several games in order to find the right rhythm and his physical abilities to make our game faster with his sprints.
"He has the quality to decide the destiny of a game. I am happy he showed that in the last minute."
Neymar will be missing in action when PSG welcome Real Madrid on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League as he is currently serving a three-game European ban for berating referees last season.
