Spurs Add Djed Spence To Summer Signing Spree
Tottenham Hotspurs have signed enterprising right back Djed Spence from championship side Middlesbrough for a deal worth up to £20m.
The 21-year-old is Antonio Conte's sixth summer signing for Spurs.
Spence spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, helping them gain promotion to the Premier League with his 42 appearances in the Championship.
He was named in the PFA Championship team of the season for his performances.
The England u-21 international has signed a five-year contract with the North London club.
"To play in the Premier League and for a big club like Tottenham, it's a dream come true," Spence told Tottenham's official website.
"I'm thankful I'm here and I've got the opportunity to play for the club. It's a privilege to be here.
"I can't wait to meet the players, the staff and obviously the manager and train with the team.
"I'm a very chilled character, I'm very humble. Everything's about football with me, I've dedicated my whole life to it.
"I'll bring excitement, skill, speed. I just want to excite the fans and play well."
Tottenham have already signed goalkeeper Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Ivan Perisic and Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona.
