In a previous interview, Zlatan alerted Manchester United about a possible return to Old Trafford if his services will be required.

“I could play easy in the Premier League, so if United need me, I’m here. But Galaxy has me, so I’m sorry,” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“Nah, I did my job in Europe. I enjoyed it, I have 33 trophies that I brought with me here and hopefully I can get something here. And then we will see where that adventure finishes.

"I look, I look, I look," he added.

"I saw the last game and I think they were unlucky. If they score the penalty, it's a different game but a game in England is not finished until its finished.

"Anything can happen, especially in the last minutes where everything is in the heat of the moment."

And responding to the comments of the 37-year-old striker, Solskjaer has insisted the former Barcelona forward should give him a call on the phone if he is serious about his return to the Old Trafford.

"Zlatan had a great time here and he's still doing well," Solskjaer said at Friday's news conference. "It's unfortunate he got his injury here when he did.

"Who knows? He knows my number! If he's serious, I'll always speak to Zlatan."

Ibrahimovic spent one-and-a-half seasons at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho, helping the club win the Community Shield, Carabao Cup and the Europa League in 2017.

Ibrahimovic was particularly prolific in his first season, scoring 28 goals from 46 games before his campaign was prematurely curtailed by a serious knee injury that restricted him to just seven appearances in his second year.

The former Sweden international left Old Trafford for Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy in March 2018 where he has continued his rich form with an impressive 46 goals from 49 games so far.
