Serie A has been suspended since March 10 because of the coronavirus pandemic and this will be the first time group training will take place since the suspension.

Players were cleared to begin individual training using their club’s facilities last week.

Plans are in place to resume the Serie A behind closed doors on June 13 after a virtual meeting of the 20 top flight sides on Wednesday saw 16 of them voted against the other alternative of June 20.

At a press conference on Saturday, Conte said: "From May 18 retail stores, hairdressers, beauticians, bars, restaurants, pubs, football teams' training sessions and museums will start again.

"But always in compliance with the regulations and with the control of the Region."

“[Minister of Sport Vincenzo] Spadafora is following the situation with great attention and is very responsible.

“We must wait for conditions to be achieved to guarantee maximum safety for the resumption of the championship.

“We need some more guarantees which at the moment have not been met. We hope this will happen as soon as possible.”

Juventus were leading Lazio by a point when the league was suspended.

The German Bundesliga have already resumed their season with six matches taking place on Saturday. Two more are expected on Sunday while another fixture will be played on Monday.
