Heskey Elated With Firmino's Performances
Former Liverpool forward Emile Heskey is thrilled with Roberto Firmino's impressive performances, describing him as an important player for the side.
Delighted with the Brazilian’s display, Heskey believes the former Hoffenheim striker is the pivotal figure for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool who "makes everything tick" for the side.
"I would say Firmino [is most important] and the reason I say that is he's the one that makes everything tick when it comes to the front three," Heskey told Omnisport.
"Take him out of there, yes, they will get you goals, yes, they will cause havoc but they won't do it in the same fashion that they do with him.
"He makes everything tick, everything goes through him and it just looks smoother when it goes through him, and they create more chances when he's in the team."
A win on Saturday recorded Liverpool’s 14 consecutive Premier League victories and having missed out on the League title to Manchester City last season, the European champions are looking to win the coveted title this time around, topping the table with 15 points after five games thus far.
Firmino joined Liverpool from German club Hoffenheim in 2015 for a fee believed to be in the region of £29 million.
The 27-year-old has scored just twice with three assits in five appearances for Liverpool in the new Premier League season.
Klopp’s men will expect to extend their winning streak when they travel to Chelsea after their crunchy Champions League fixture against Napoli on Tuesday.
